Common Questions

• What are the ages for T-Ball?

  We will have two age divisions — one for 3 & 4-year-olds and another for 5 & 6-year-olds. 

• Where are the practices and games played?

  At the Clovis Campus Athletic Field.

• How long is the season?

  We will play ten weeks of games on Saturday mornings. Your coach and parents will determine a once-a-week practice day & time after you are assigned a team.

• What baseball gear is included with registration?

  Each player will receive a hat and jersey. They must purchase their pants, belts, gloves, and cleats. A bag, helmet, and bat are optional.

• What is your refund policy?

  No Refunds are given after the first week of play.

• Can my child play up a division?

  We don't recommend play-ups or play-downs for the safety of the kids. Players who want to play in an older or younger division must approved by the Stars staff. The player must be evaluated at sandlots, and having a parent be a coach is highly encouraged.

• What balls will we be playing with?

  We will be using Rawlings TVB - Sponge Rubber Core. There will be balls available, but you can purchase your own!

• Should I purchase a bat, and which one is right for my player?

  There will be bats available, but you can purchase your own! For Tee Ball players, they must pick a bat that they can swing! Most players should use a 25” or 26” length bat weighing 14 or 15 oz. Also, look for the USA BAT stamp on the handle.

• What kind of glove should I get?

  Most youth gloves are constructed with a leather palm and synthetic material for the outer shell. This allows for a lighter glove and one that is easier to close. Look for a youth glove that is 9" to 10 1/2", and having “sure catch technology” is a plus.

• Does my player need cleats?

  Yes, players should wear cleats, and remember, metal spikes are not permitted at this level. Shoes with molded cleats should be worn at the Tee Ball practices and games.

• Does my player need a helmet?

  There will be helmets available, but you can purchase your own! To help determine if your helmet fits right, you can use the shake test as a guide. Place the helmet on your player’s head and give it a few good shakes. If it moves around too much, try going down a size or buy a padding kit to guarantee a more accurate fit.
